The Central Institute for Cataloguing and Documentation is the body within the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities (MiBAC) which defines the standards and tools for the Cataloguing and Documentation of national archaeological, architectural, art history and ethno-anthropological heritage in agreement with the Regions. It also manages the General Information System for Cataloguing and carries out high level training and research in the Cataloguing sector. The Institute conserves and valuates collections of photography and aerial photography held in their own archives, which are open for public consultation.
